So far, Apple Prime Day deals aren't great... but there's still hope

Apple Prime Day deals

We're not bowled over by the Apple deals so far this Prime Day. And though we saw better deals at this point before Prime Day official last year, we're still not worried. Things are tighter this year, what with the economic squeeze. However, we don't think this will be a disaster for people wanting to get a bargain on an Apple product. What it likely means is that the fewer deals that we'll see will be better, but also snapped up quicker than usual. That's where this page comes in.

We're going to be searching for all the best Apple Prime deals, as and when they go live, and detailing them on this page, from now until just after Prime Day (some post-Prime deals do crop up). And we know what we're doing. We've been using, reviewing and deal-searching Apple products for the best part of a decade. We aim to bring you only the genuine Apple deals, and it there aren't any, we'll just tell you that!

And there are a few discounts worth noting. Scroll down, or jump around the sections to the left, and you'll see what we've found so far, from Amazon and other retailers (we're not here to promote Amazon, we just care if the deal is good or not.) None of the deals below need a Prime membership, but come Tuesday, you may want to sign up to Amazon Prime for a 30-day free trial to take advantage of some of the Prime Day deals we'll be covering.

Prime Day iPad deals

The only official iPad Prime Day deal we spotted last year was on the iPad Air 4 exclusively in the UK. We'll soon know if we'll be luckier this time around. But really we never sweat it when it comes to official Prime Apple deals – the best deals are either just on Amazon for all users, or over at Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart and other big retailers. Here's the current best...

iPad Air 5th-gen (M1,2022): $749 $699 at Amazon

iPad mini 6th-gen (2021) 256GB: From

iPad mini 6th-gen (2021) 256GB: From $649 to $599 at Amazon
Save $50:
The biggest price drop on this iPad mini only applies to the Starlight colour model. There are still smaller savings to be had on the other vibrant colours though, and on the 64GB configuration. The lowest price we've seen on this model is a whopping $60 less than this saving so it may be worth holding out for more of a discount.

iPad Pro 11 (M1, 2021) 2TB WiFi + cellular: £1,899 £1,370 at Amazon

The top iPad Pro configurations with cellular connectivity and 2TB of storage are hugely expensive, but this is a huge 28% discount. This isn't the lowest price we've ever seen it since it was briefly reduced to just £1,200 in January, but it's a great saving if you need a Pro with these high-end specs.

Prime Day MacBook deals: US

NEW MacBook Air (M2, 2022) 256GB: $1,099

NEW MacBook Air (M2, 2022) 256GB: $1,099 $979 at Amazon
Save $120: B&H has a nice saving on the M2-powered MacBook Air, which was only released in July 2022. When we reviewed this one, we found its performance to be on par with the 13-inch MacBook Pro. We have seen this reduced to $200 previously, but we still think this is a reasonable deal.

NEW MacBook Pro 14.2-inch (M2, 2023) 512GB: $1,999

NEW MacBook Pro 14.2-inch (M2, 2023) 512GB: $1,999 $1,899 at Amazon
Save $100: This latest M2-powered MacBook Pro was released in January, and it already had a price drop in this pre Apple Prime Day deal. The discount has gone from $200 to $100 – but if you were going to buy one anyway, this is still a nice saving (otherwise it might be worth waiting for Prime Day itself. This model has an M2 Pro chip, 512GB of storage, and a 10-core CPU with 16-core GPU.

MacBook Pro 16-inch (M1 Pro, 2021) 1TB: $2,699 $1,899 at B&H
Save $800! Possibly the best pre-Prime Day deal we've seen, you can save a staggering amount on this MacBook Pro M1 2021 model in Space Gray over at B&H. Be quick, as we don't think the stock will last very long at this bargain price, the discount has already gone down by $50.

Save $300: Note that this is the same MacBook as the above deal with $850 off. The only difference; is the colour. It's still a substantial MacBook deal from Amazon, but nothing on the one above from B&H, so this is only worth considering if you prefer the silver model or if the other deal sells out.

MacBook Pro 14-inch (M1 Pro, 2021) 1TB: $2,499

MacBook Pro 14-inch (M1 Pro, 2021) 1TB: $2,499 $1,999 at Amazon

MacBook Air (M1, 2020) 256GB: $899 $869 at Amazon
Save $30: We need to be clear about this deal – the retail price given as $999 is not right. This amazing laptop (my favourite of all time), came out in 2020, and you can regularly get it for $899, so I'd say the saving here is more like £30. Is that still worth it? Well, actually I expect better discouints on this model come Tuesday and Wednesday, so I'd hold out.

NEW MacBook Air 15 (M2, 2023) 256GB: $1,299

NEW MacBook Air 15 (M2, 2023) 256GB: $1,299 $1,199 at Apple Education

Prime Day Apple Watch deals

Apple Prime Day sales tend to see a lot of Apple Watch deals. We're likely to see savings on the 2022 Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE, and small savings on the pricey Apple Watch Ultra.

Prime Day Apple Watch deals: US

Apple Watch Series 8 at Amazon US:

Apple Watch Series 8 at Amazon US: $399 $379
Save $20: The Apple Watch Series 8 is the latest version of Apple's standard wearable. Along with the larger screen introduced with the Series 7, it features temperature sensing and blood oxygen tracking. This is a small saving but it was bigger a couple of days ago ($70 off) so we'd recommend holding out for more.

Apple Watch SE (1st gen) at Walmart:

Apple Watch SE (1st gen) at Walmart: $279 $149
Save $130: For a budget option, look no further than the Apple Watch SE. This deal knocks $130 off the price of the 1st gen model, which, although it doesn't pack an always-on display, is still a hugely feature rich wearable.

Prime Day Apple Watch deals: UK

Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + cellular, 45mm) £849

Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + cellular, 45mm) £849 £819 at Amazon

Apple's heavy-duty rugged smartwatch is a pricey piece of kit and sadly it doesn't tend to come in for very big discounts, but something is something at least. We'll be hoping to see bigger discounts this Prime Day, but we're not holding our breath.

Prime Day AirPods deals

AirPods are the Apple products that tend to see the most regular discounts at Apple Amazon sales, so they could be a good bet for next week's Apple Prime deals. These are the best deals that are live at the moment.

Apple AirPods Max: £549 £499 at Amazon
Save £50:
You can save 9-per cent off various colour variations of the brilliant Apple AirPods Max on Amazon right now. Considering how expensive these Apple headphones are, it's well worth grabbing this discount if you've had your eye on them.

Prime Day iMac deals

Amazon also has a decent price on this 2020 iMac in the UK. This is probably the cheapest you'll find an unused iMac right now.

Prime Day iPhone deals

Prime Day iPhone deals: US

We don't tend to see Amazon iPhone deals in the US – your best bet for a discount on a new iPhone is usually via a trade-in direct with Apple, but there are *usually* some Apple Amazon sales deals to be grabbed in the UK.

Prime Day iPhone deals: UK

Apple iPhone 14 Pro (128 GB): £1,099

Apple iPhone 14 Pro (128 GB): £1,099 £1,034.99 at Amazon
Save £64:
This is a small saving on the newest iPhone Pro, but it is over halfway to the lowest price we've seen (which was £999) so it's not a bad one. If you want this now then it's a nice chance to save some cash, but if you can wait you may well save more on Prime Day itself. This saving is on the gold and silver models, though you can get the deep purple and space grey for £5 more.

Prime Day Apple Pencil deals

Apple Pencils don't often come in for more than the occasional small discount of around $20/£20. We saw discounts of that size during Amazon Prime Day last July, and we can expect to see similar over the next few weeks. Here's what you can get right now...

Need to know: Apple Prime Day

How do we select our Apple Prime Day deals?

We've been reviewing Apple products for years at Creative Bloq, and we've been searching for the best Apple deals, whether for Prime Day or not, for just as long. That means that we know a good Apple Prime deal when we see one. But we don't just copy and paste the details of a deal from Amazon.

First off, we use our expertise and knowledge of our creative audience to search for the most relevant and popular Apple products on sale. When we see a discount on those products, we consider how that discount actually stacks up. We do this by comparing the new price to all other main retailers, by looking at the discount price history (whether it's been on sale at a lowest price before, or if this is a record low), and then convey all this information to you in a succinct and transparent way. There's such a thing as buyer's remorse, and we really don't want our audience to feel it any time soon!

We also need to talk about retail prices here. Amazon is guilty of either stating a product's pre-sale price as its original retail price – even if the product went on sale a couple of years ago and hasn't been sold for that original retail price for some time. That's not really that honest. So we will look out for that and explicitly make a note of these details whenever necessary. Our mission for Prime Day is to provide only the best, useful, real deals to our readers. We want you to trust us and use next Apple Prime Day, after all.

Are Apple products included in the Amazon Prime Day sale?

Yep! More often than not you will find lots of discounted Apple products in the Prime Day savings, including the early deals that we've found above, and we can expect even more discounts on a wide range of tech items once the event officially kicks off.

But don't expect massive Apple Prime Day deals across the tech giant's whole range. After all, Apple products tend to hold their value and don't often get big discounts. But, based on previous years, we do expect to see some decent savings worth grabbing.

During Prime Day 2022 last July, we saw savings of up to $200 / £200 off the price of some iPads and MacBooks. We also saw a record-low price on the Apple Watch Series 7 and some great prices on the AirPods Pro too. By and large, you'll need to turn to slightly older Apple products for the biggest potential savings, and there may be many savings that are not officially part of the Prime Day sale, making them available for everyone.

What Apple Prime Day deals should I look out for?

Last year, we saw Apple Prime Day deals on a wide range of products, from iPads to AirPods and MacBooks. In most cases, they weren't official Prime Day Apple deals, but were Apple deals that were open to everyone, from Amazon, but also Best Buy, B&H Photo and other retailers. The one Apple product that did see members-only Prime Day deals was Apple Watch – specifically Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch SE, the first of which saw discounts of over $100/£100.

We'd expect to see something similar during the Amazon Prime Day 2023 sale, especially now that Apple has released the Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch Ultra, which are also likely to see discounts. Based on previous savings, we'd say that AirPods are also a good bet for Apple Prime Day deals, while MacBooks and iPads come in for discounts throughout the year but also tend to see particularly good savings around the time of Prime Day. Again, these are not usually Prime-exclusives (the only official Prime Day Apple iPad deal last year was a saving on the iPad Air in the UK).
